Prego Restaurant | Our Story
Four decades of Italian hospitality in Orange County
Family-owned since 1984, Prego Ristorante has been Orange County's enduring Italian table — built by Ruth and Tony Bedi on the belief that every great meal is, above all, an act of hospitality.
Chef Ugo Allesina
Born in Piemonte, Chef Ugo trained at prestigious hotels along Lake Maggiore before arriving in California in 1990. After a decade at Mezzaluna and Il Fornaio locations across Los Angeles, he found his home at Prego in July 2000.
The food on the plate
Chef Ugo's menu is rooted in Northern Italy — handcrafted pastas, premium meats and seafood, and seasonal California ingredients. The dishes evolve, but the commitment to regional craft never does.
The Prego experience
Guests return as much for Chef Ugo's warm tableside presence as for the food itself. From patio lunches to celebratory dinners, Prego meets every guest where they are.
A family, a community, a new home
In late 2017, Prego moved to The District at Tustin Legacy, bringing forty years of Old World hospitality into a welcoming new setting — without losing a step.
